“The course is pretty good overall, but could use a little updating. The instructor did a good job of explaining the various concepts. I learned a lot about PHP and MySQL. However, there are a few things that need to be updated. The ‘common functions’ php file in chapter 10, uses a few mysql functions that have since been deprecated (and should be replaced with their mysqli equivalents). I was able to fumble my way through and fix the various errors, but I’ve got some experience with JS and other languages, so I kinda knew what to look for. A person new to this kind of programming might get frustrated when their meticulously-copied code doesn’t work.
