“Overexplaining the obvious, but not explaining things that an actual beginner (such as myself) might wonder. Such as: what does the “R.id….” snip actually mean, why is it there, what does it do, could something else do the same? To a complete beginner, this is not obvious. That you need to type a string the same way everywhere IS obviuos. Also, sometimes the instructor seems to just rant to avoid silence; especially while doing design-choices. It seems like the information was not planned beforehand, but rather, John is deisgning an app on the fly and what he actually tells me is random and whatever pops into his head as he goes along.
