Course requirements:

This web development video course has been designed to help you build your knowledge of CSS and master one of the most valuable tools in modern web design.

Course description:

CSS is a deceptively simple presentation language that has significantly developed over the last few years. Frontend developers need to keep style sheets manageable and organized by taking a modular approach to building a website. They can either wrestle with it, or learn how to master it in order to easily apply layouts and styles with precision.

This web development video course has been designed to help you build your knowledge of CSS and master one of the most valuable tools in modern web design.

We start off with a brief review of the foundations of CSS by using a good text editor to automate your authoring and set up a CSS baseline. We then move on to creating a layout with floats and a functioning menu with dropdowns, taking a modular-organized approach to CSS. We’ll also go into detail about CSS3 properties such as transforms, transitions, and animations. By the end, you’ll have an understanding of responsive web design, web fonts, icon fonts, and techniques used to support retina devices; all things a modern frontend web developer must know.

We deep dive into a lot of details of CSS in this course, from creating a modern looking ghost button and a big call-to-action button to the supposedly difficult and scary SVG. Mastering CSS will arm you with all the knowledge, tips, and tricks you need to make you stand out in the world of developing complex, responsive, feature-rich web applications.

Reviews:

“There are some amazing instructors on Udemy. Rich is not one of them. His videos lack depth. The overall course seems unpolished and rushed. The audio quality isn’t that great. It’s clear he knows his stuff, but I found it pretty difficult to sit through this course. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a CSS course.” (Frontend Developer AJ Schmidt)

“I just finished the course and think it was an overall good course for bringing someone up to speed on CSS and introducing things like media queries and SVG. The instructor was easy to listen to and organized the materials well. I recommend this course with a few caveats.
While I never had a problem understanding the instructor, the audio quality was poor and tinny. Either he didn’t use a good audio set up and just used the built in mic on his computer, or they compressed it a lot.
The second problem is that it was created for Packt Publishing and unlike most other courses on Udemy, the instructor is not involved in the course at this point. Any questions you ask will be relayed from the publisher and I asked a question 10 days ago and never got a response. Don’t expect any engagement from the instructor. Really the course was easy to follow along with and understand, so this isn’t a huge problem, just something to be aware of.
Finally my third criticism is the obvious plugging of resources by the publisher for things like Jquery and other subjects in the final video.” (Nick Damiano)

“Excellent course,
Knowledgeable instructor,
Organised advanced topics,
Clear and Crisp explanation,
The Only thing I wanted to mention is that if any updates with the latest items included then it will be wonderful. Thank you :)” (Vivek Babu)
