“I give up with this “tutor”… I have taken a few of his courses, sound quality on all of them is at best choppy. He’s speaking and sentences are cut off, there’s a second or two of silence and then it restarts in the middle of a word. I don’t have this problem with any of the other courses on Udemy.
This is also the first course on a frame-work where we don’t build a site. We are not shown HOW to use it. The closest we get is in the second section. Before we are shown how Materialize is organized, there are a series of “challenges” to change a “default page” appearance. The supplied template (in a pdf) has already had all the mods applied!!!
The following “lessons” go over some of the features very sparsly – some of the “lessons” are less then 60seconds. It felt very much that this was the first time he had seen Materialize, terms were not explained. For example what is a Badge, a Card etc and WHEN do you use each one?
I was interested in using Materialize, after taking this course, not so much. Do yourself a favour, save your money and go to the Materialize website or google “mateialize tutorial” if you want to learn in context how to use Materialize.” (Clive Thomas)
